The adventure began in 1993 when Alain Bessé, who was then the director of one of the most important French companies in insurance brokerage for businesses, decided to acquire the Bretesche golf course, which was then in financial difficulty. A skilled golfer during his rare moments of leisure, this decision marked the beginning of a passion that would animate him for the rest of his life and that would take on its full meaning when he bought the hotel adjacent to the golf course in 1995.
He will never cease to be enthusiastically committed to this new entrepreneurial adventure with the ambition of upgrading the Domaine de la Bretesche hotel. Now a haven of peace, this charming castle, at the gateway to Brittany, offers a world of refinement where classical and contemporary styles blend.
In 2003, Alain Bessé was joined in the adventure by his daughter Anne Jousse who took over the management of the hotel.
With the experience acquired with the Domaine de la Bretesche, Alain Bessé and Anne Jousse decided to continue the expansion of the hotel branch by investing in the City of Light and seeking the best locations.
Anne Jousse then decided to create a strong brand in order to group the establishments under a single label: the B Signature Hotels & Resorts group, a new dynamic and family-run hotel group anchored around a collection of luxury establishments.

Founded in 2009, the French and independent group is today directed by Anne Jousse. A worthy heir to the common vision established with her father over the years, she continues to bring the family passion to life: to astonish and move her guests and offer them memorable souvenirs. And the transmission of this family passion continues: since 2017, Agathe Jousse, granddaughter of Alain Bessé and daughter of Anne Bessé Jousse, has joined the group as Commercial Director.
